Inky Faces: The Online Workshop
Welcome & materials

Materials: heavy watercolour paper (300gsm or more), inks, a round brush and a flat brush, masking tape, a jar of water.
Tape the paper down on all four edges before you start. In this demonstration the eyes are painted first, then the face is built around them, then the shoulders, and the hat is added last. Work in that order — the eyes set the scale of the head, so placing them first stops the face drifting too large for the sheet.
The clip is sped up. Use the speed control to slow it to 0.5x or 0.25x and follow the brush at something closer to the real pace.
